Encompass Marine Surveying, LLC ("we", "us") provides marine survey services. This page explains what information we collect through this website and how it is used.

What we collect

We collect information only when you give it to us — principally through our booking form. That includes:

Your name, phone number, email address and mailing address
Details of the vessel to be surveyed, its location, and your relationship to it
Broker or brokerage details, where you provide them
The survey type, date requested and agreed price

We do not collect payment card details through this website. Payment is handled by Square, our payment processor, or settled directly by cash, check or wire.

How we use it

To schedule, prepare for and carry out the survey you have requested
To send you confirmation of the booking and a calendar invitation
To produce and deliver your survey report
To raise and settle an invoice for the work

We do not sell your information, and we do not use it for advertising.

Who else sees it

Your booking details are stored in Google Workspace (Sheets, Calendar, Drive and Gmail) and, for invoicing, in Square. Where you name a broker on the booking form, we send that broker a confirmation of the survey details so they can coordinate access to the vessel. We may disclose information where the law requires it.

How long we keep it

Survey records, including the report and its supporting photographs, are retained as part of our professional records. A marine survey is a professional opinion that may be relied on years after it is issued, so these records are kept for the long term.

Your choices

You can ask us what information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete information that we are not required to retain as part of a survey record. Contact us using the details below.

Cookies and analytics

This site does not set advertising or tracking cookies. Our booking form is served by Google Apps Script, which may set cookies necessary for it to function.

Please note: this page is a plain-language summary of our current practice. It is not legal advice, and it does not replace the terms of your signed booking agreement, which govern the survey itself.
